Obersöchering Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a key Gules in pale superimposed by a palm frond Vert in bend sinister, chief trefly Vert.
The green chief is symbolising the rural economic base, especially stock breeding. The key is an attribute of St. Peter, one of the patron saints of Obersöchering. The aperture of the key has the shape of a fleur-de-lis and is an attribute of St. Mary and is alluding to the original parish church of Our Lady of Obersöchering, which existed until 1803. The palm frond is the usual attribute given to any martyr. Here it is alluding to St. Margareth, patron saint of Untersöchering.
