Presentation of El Casar de Escalona

The muicipality of El Casar de Escalona (1,743 inhabitants in 2018; 3,955 ha; municipal website) is located 70 km north-west of Toledo and 30 km south-west of Escalona.

El Casar de Excalona was established in the 12th century as El Casar del Alberche, a hamlet (caserio) composed of a group of houses (casas) located on river Alberche. The village was renamed to El Casar de Escalobna after its transfer to the domain, late Duchy (1272) of Escalona.
El Casar de Escalona was granted the atatus of villa in 1634 by Philip IV.

The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3, composed of three equal horizontal stripes, the outer, white, the central, blue, wit two red houses in the upper stripe and one in the lower stripe.

The coat of arms of El Casar de Escalona is prescribed by an Order issued on 15 November 2002 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 29 November 2002 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 149, pp. 17,480-17,481 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Argent a fess wavy azure surrounded by three houses gules 2 and 1. The shield surmounted by a Spanish Royal crown.
