Description

Local Council Yeroham is situated in the Negev, 32 km SE of Be'er Sheva and south of Dimona. Est. 1951 with 9,000 inh. The best information I could get is that the flag is a monochrome field with emblem, so blue on yellow based on the emblem's original colours could be wishful thinking only. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut HaPirsumim), YP 1470, 29 August 1968.

In my visit, I found out that the flag is yellow and charged with emblem in natural colors.

Named after an ancient town whose name was kept in the Arabic names: Tel Rahma and Bir Rahma (according the a legend, it is the spring from which Hagar gave water to her son Ishma'el). Established in 1951 as a transitional residency named "Kefar Yeroham", became Local Council in 1959 and changed its name in 1962.
Its position was decided to be near HaMakhtesh HaGadol (The Big Crater) in order that the population will find work at the nearby phosphates mines. However, lack of employment. its position in the desert on a remote side road and far from any major city, stopped any possibility of any boost to this 8,700 inh. (2003) town.

In a photo at wikipedia, a light blue flag with blue emblem can be seen on the city hall. There is no date, so we can't establish if the blue variant was before, after or side by side with the yellow flag that I saw there.

"State of Yeroham"

In 1984, Yeroham mayor, Barukh Almekayes, announced about the formation of the State of Yeroham, blocked all roads to the town and approached international bodies for recognition as independent state. This was done as protest against the government policy concerning the town and the Negev, the high rate of unemployment in the town and its isolation. This state last for few weeks before vanished from the headlines.
During the early 1990' , Almekayes was removed from office by the Minister of the Interior and lost the 1993 elections, just to be re-elected in 2003 and to be removed again by MOTI in 2005.
There was no special flag reported for the state so the Local Council flag was probably used.
