Description

Regional Council Menashe (named after the biblical tribe Manasseh) is situated around Eiron road (road 65), NE to E of Hadera. Est. 1950. Pop. 12,000 in 19 settlements. In my visit I spotted a green flag with black emblem. However the Regional Council sent me a blue desk flag with yellow emblem. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut HaPirsumim), YP 1039, p. 28, 2 October 1963.

According to the bible, the Tribe of Menashe (or Manasseh) was split into two parts. One of the parts received the area in which this Regional Council is situated. The emblem include Menashe symbol: Re'em (Oryx).
