The coat of arms of Jiménez was created at the start of the tenure of Ambrosio Gutiérrez González (1953-1955), and adopted through a contest in which the proposal by Víctor Montelongo was chosen as the winner. It was approved on 4 January 1953 on the bicentennial day of the city. Description according to Héraldica Municipal de Chihuahua:

It circles in reference to its historical antecedents and consists of four sections (quadrants), they are observed in the upper part (section in chief) the Florido River and its seating on its shore, to its right the symbol of the indigenous attackers [bow and arrow], in the lower right and left part the reference to its agricultural [wheat and cotton] and livestock [cattle head and sheep head] products; to the center unifying all the sections a cross over a triangle [house] which parts from its origins to the today and prosperous municipality, this shield is shown over French field (ogive).

The border reads "Valle de Huejuquilla; Real Presidio de Santa María de las Caldas" [Valley of Huejuquilla; Royal Presidio of St. Mary of the Hot Springs]. At the top it reads "Cd. Jiménez Chih." signifying its status as a city and its state. Just above are three petal shapes for decoration.
