The coat of arms of Meoqui was adopted during the tenure of Municipal President Sergio Mata Lazo (1983-1986). During the tenure of Jaime Acosta Valenzuela (1986-1989), the word “Trabajo” [Work] was removed as it is not considered a virtue. The figure of the temple was also corrected and stylized; the railway bridge was modified, with waves and the sea added. During the tenure of Armando Navarrete González (1989-1992), the figures of a Conchos Indian and Spaniard were added. Description according to Héraldica Municipal de Chihuahua:

The shield is surrounded by the motto of the municipal seat: “Traditional, Hospitable”. It is divided into sections (quarters), in the upper the bridge of the Railway [to the left the head of a Spaniard and to the right the head of an Indian]; in the central the San Pedro River and in the lower the Temple of San Pedro, signaled in its extremes the year of its foundation (1709) and the year in which Benito Juárez denominated Villa de Meoqui (1866) [To the left is the founder Fray Andrés Ramírez; to the right Benito Juárez]. Shield resolved in French field, imposed over a parchment.
