Coat of Arms

The coat of arms was designed by the Professor Rafael Arroyo Fácil and adopted in 1991. Description according to Héraldica Municipal de Chihuahua:

Resolved in rectangular form, it is crested by a crown, which represents the royal authorization for the construction of the estate in which it had its origin, and below it, the name of its proprietor: Valero [sic] Cortez del Rey, its motto is: "Trabajo y Hospitalidad" [Work and Hospitality], the upper-left section was chosen to represent the agricultural production of the municipality with plants of corn and wheat, the same of which are supported in mechanic instruments, the upper-right for the fruticulture choosing in its representation walnut trees; in the lower-left section a figure which represents the cattle-raising activity is drawn, having as a background the canal of Bella Vista, in the lower right, a boat and a net, which symbolize the fishing products obtained in the lake Toronto.
