Dijk en Waard municipality

The Municipality of Dijk en Waard was created on 01.01.2022 by merging of now former municipalities of Heerhugowaard and Langedijk.

It is unknown whether the flag of Dijk en Waard has been officially adopted. The North Holland municipality of Dijk en Waard has used a logo flag since its inception in 2022 , which depicts the municipal logo with lettering on a blue-green background.

The green and blue of the flag evoke the countryside: the green grass, the blue water, and the red of the setting sun.
Red, blue, and yellow are also the colors of North Holland. White, blue, and yellow are the colors of the former municipality of Heerhugowaard, where the heron was the symbol.
