Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 10.867; area: 100,85 km². Settlements: Piershil (seat), Goudswaard, Nieuw-Beijerland, Nieuwendijk, Tiengemeten, Zuid-Beijerland, Zuidzijde
On 1 Jan 1984 Goudswaard, Nieuw-Beijerland, Piershil and Zuid-Beijerland merged to form the new municipality of Korendijk. The island of Tiengemeten is also included in Korendijk.
