Blazon: På blå grunn eit sølv firblad. In English: Azure a quatrefoil argent.
Approved by the royal resolution of 31 March 1989 after a drawing by Arvid Sveen from Vadsø.

The muncipal web site  explains that the design symbolizes creativnes of municipal inhabitants. The acanthus flower/leaves in general stand for flourishing - growth.
