Olesnica - rural commune, Olesnica County, Dolnośląskie Voivodship - former
German name: Öls - (Oels)
The "Statut" of the Commune gives only the description of the Coat of Arms and
doesn't mention the flag, but I managed to find the photo (real "eagle's
eye" you may say, or, an avid student of vexillology) of the actual Commune's
flag displayed in front of the Commune Council's office with the caption
saying it was adopted by the Council's resolution on November 10, 1995.
"The Commune has the Coat of Arms with the image of the black Piast-era Lower
Silesian eagle with the silver, crescent-shaped band across its chest
and wings, on the gold field. The eagle, raising into the flight, looks
upward toward the silvery crescent moon with the horns pointed upward on
the red field and with the Latin silver cross in its middle. The cross
is flanked by two, slanted, golden wheat stalks. The tips of the crescent
are adorned with two six-pointed golden stars."
The flag is a tricolor horizontal rectangle of red, yellow and green,
predominant colors of the Arms.
