Almofala Commune

Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.

Coat of Arms

Shield Vert with base wavy of Argent and Azure, issuant from base wavy a throughout bridge Argent masoned Sable, on chief a dove Argent with nimbus Or, flanked by two corn cobs Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "ALMOFALA - CASTRO DAIRE".
Meaning:
The dove is a representation of the Holy Spirit, patron saint of the commune. The base wavy is a representation of the Varosa River.

Presentation of Almofala

Almofala is one of the 11 communes of Castro Daire Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes. It had 222 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 18,6 km².
