Shield Argent a pall Azure, charged with an impending chevron Ermine charged with five pallets Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VALE DE ASNES".
Meaning:
The word "asnes" in this toponym refers probably to donkeys, presuming it to be a variant of "asnos". The chevron - in Portuguese heraldic terminology, "asna" - is therefore a punning element. The phrase "vale de" means "valley of" and it's also referenced on the coat of arms by means of the pile, in negative space.
