It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain blue field.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, issuant from base a paly baton Gules knotted Sable between two wheat sheaves Vert tied Gules in chief. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "S. CRISTÓVÃO - MONTEMOR-O-NOVO".
Meaning:
The baton is an attribute of St. Christopher, the local patron saint. The wheat sheaves are symbolizing agriculture as the predominant business line. The base wavy is symbolizing Ribeira de São Cristóvão.

São Cristóvão Commune is one of the seven communes of the Montemor-o-Novo municipality (q.v.); it had 540 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 156.3 km².
