Coat of arms

Shield Vert with base wavy of Azure and Argent, an eradicated cherry tree Or fruited Argent, in chief a Paschal Lamb, nimbed Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "S. JOÃO DE FONTOURA".
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, name giver of the commune.
