Shield Argent, in chief a golden goshawk with spread wings, holding an inescutcheon Azure with five bezants Argent, a mountain issuant Sable over waves Argent and Vert flanked by a graped Purpure leaved Vert at dexter and a corn cob Gules leaved Vert at sinister, a golden whaling boat in front of the mountain. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SANTO AMARO - S.ROQUE DO PICO".
Meaning:
The base wavy is alluding to the sea. The mountain is the Pico, a volcano and the highly visible landmark of the municipality, the boat is representing the dockyards in the past and the former importance of whaling. Grapes and corn are symbolizing agriculture and especially viticulture. The goshawk is the symbol of the Azores and can be found in many arms of the archipelago.

Presentation of Santo Amaro

Santo Amaro is one of the five communes of São Roque do Pico Municipality. It had 288 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 12,70 km².
