A new city logo was adopted in 2022, and has been made into a flag.
The Common Council on Tuesday unanimously approved the new logo, part of which depicts some of Waukesha’s icons inside the image of a fox. The animal imagery references the Fox River’s prominence in the community, as well as the origins of the city’s name.
"The tail of the fox is flowing, presenting water and the Fox River," City Administrator Kevin Lahner said. "The fox is representative of the city of Waukesha, as the word 'Waukesha' comes from the Native American word for 'fox.'" Waukesha resident Sarah Sallman, who drew up the city’s 125th anniversary logo, is also the creator of the fox-themed one. While there was consensus that the anniversary logo would be phased out after a brief period, Lahner said the decision early on was to create a fresh image, rather than revert back to what was in place.

The flag is monochrome (various colors), with the seal in the center in black.

Other variants of the flag are green or red.
Each a mono-coloured field with the seal in black in the centre. I'm not entirely sure what these are. If the City of Waukesha have indeed adopted three versions of a city flag, they are rather quiet about it. Any mention of "the
flag" on their web site seems to refer to the Stars & Stripes, and according to their Sign Chart, it would appear to be prohibited to even fly one such flag (not being the U.S. flag, the Wisconsin flag, or a flag with the logo for the
business).
Looking at it from the other side: There are more cities that pay little attention to their own flag. I find that somewhat curious, as it doesn't make much sense to adopt a flag if you're not going to use it. It's after all supposed to be the symbol representing the city, so you'd expect it to be treated with the same pride people have for their city. But, apparently some cities see things differently.
Yet, the other side has an other side as well: If they didn't really care about their flag, would they have three
different versions of it?
