(i.e. a transcribed issue) of this famous 14th century Book of
knowledge [f0fXX].
The “reprint” include some original drawings from the
book and some redrawings. It is composed of three PDF files (so go

Remarks:
Inferred, yet unknown, original manuscript of an anonymous mid-14th
century apocryphal travel book, covering the then-known lands,
probably the oldest flag book. Four extant manuscripts:
[f0fXXn], [f0fXXr],
[f0fXXs] and
[f0fXXz].
Three edited transcriptions:
[f0f77], [f0f12] and
[f0f05].
Vexillological content commented i.a. in
[nag00],
[gmc17] and
[mnf99].
Famous 14th century book made by a Franciscan friar that is,
if I am not much mistaken, the first book that systematically
shows the flags of the world and is thus a
“protovexillologic” reference book of monumental
value. The redrawings from it was published among others in
October 1917 National Gengraphic Magazine
[gmc17]… Željko Heimer, 17 Dec 2002
It was apparently originally written by a Spanish Franciscan in
the middle of the fourteenth century and first published by Marcos
Jiménez de la Espada in 1877 [f0f77]. Andries Burgers, 04 Nov 2006
