The flag of Province of Trento is not Red-White-Red as
reported, but Violet (or wine-red or purple)-White-Violet as
appears on CISV site. It
derives from the banner of the National Guard of the ancient
independent bisphoric (1801).
Here is a photo from the
website of the province which allow to compare the color of
Trento flag with the red of Italian tricolor. Roberto Breschi, 30 December 2004
I send you a picture
which shows three flags hanging from the wall of Castel Beseno
(Trento Province). The left is South Tyrol [Bolzano
Province - ed.], in the middle Trentino [Trento Province -
ed.] and the right one the Austrian Tyrol. Karl Palfrader, 11 August 2001
3:1 and 5:1 Flags
I visited the beautiful town of Riva
del Garda, situated at the top northern point of the lake and
belongs to Trento Province (Trentino-Alto Adige). No local or
regional flags but the provincial flag in 3:1 ratio above the fort and 5:1 ratio in the main square
together with Italy and EU flags at the same proportions.Photos taken by Eli Gutterman & Dov Gutterman. Dov Gutterman, 17 October 2004
